Dubai Underwater Hotels

The financial crisis is not over yet, but those guys from Dubai never knew what’s up with this crisis. Tourism in United Arab Emirates is going great and in order to do that, the Arab sheiks are funding a lot of astonishing structures like the Burj Dubai, but the latest construction that will be opened in a few weeks is simply amazing.Although it’s not the first underwater hotel, Hydropolis is definitely the most extravagant underwater hotel. Hydropolis consists of the land station which will serve as welcome area, a connecting tunnel, and the 220-suite hotel. The underwater hotel is one of the biggest contemporary constructions, and it’s located at about 20-30 meters below the surface.

Joachim Hauser says that the underwater hotel could only be built in Dubai as it has a very open-minded, international community, but I think this can be done because they have money and a natural exoticness.

That’s just great, and now humans can live underwater. I bet you never thought that was possible!

The Hydropolis was designed by Joachim Hauser and construction began in 2005, and it was due to be completed by the end of 2006, but there were some technical difficulties like design issues, and the rough sea. That’s history now as the underwater hotel who cost £300 million will be completed in the next few weeks
Currently under construction in Dubai, Hydropolis is the world’s first luxury underwater hotel. It will include three elements: the land station, where guests will be welcomed, the connecting tunnel, which will transport people by train to the main area of the hotel, and the 220 suites within the submarine leisure complex.

It is one of the largest contemporary construction projects in the world, covering an area of 260 hectares.”Hydropolis is not a project; it’s a passion,” enthuses Joachim Hauser, the developer and designer of the hotel. His futuristic vision is about to take shape 20m below the surface of the Arabian Gulf, just off the Jumeirah Beach coastline in Dubai. The £300 million, 220-suite hotel is due to open at the end of 2007 and will incorporate a host of innovations that will take it far beyond the original blueprint for an underwater complex worthy of Jules have to admit that Dubai is the future, and if only all the arab nation could simply invest their money in science and technology instead of weapons, I believe in no time they’ll be as advance as Taiwan or maybe Malaysia or India. Japan, Aussie and others are way off pitch, well, you may have the money to buy foreign technology and expertise but you can’t buy your own countryman mentality and change it in a day or two.

This hotel, the world's first underwater luxury resort, brings new meaning to the "ocean-view room." Situated 66 feet below the surface of the Persian Gulf, Hydropolis will feature 220 guest suites. Reinforced by concrete and steel, its Plexiglas walls and bubble-shaped dome ceilings offer sights of fish and other sea creatures. It is scheduled to open in late 2007.
The Hydropolis is a self-acclaimed 10-star, underwater hotel which was under construction in Dubai. However, as of February 2007, Hydropolis' launch has been relaunched, due to cost issues and concerns over the project's impact on marine life, the project has faced major delays.

Hyrdropolis is envisioned as a fantasy hotel beneath the waves. This submarine hotel is inspired by the Jules Verne tale 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. It will be an underwater oasis where visitors can marvel at the architecture surrounding them, and the sea beyond.

2009 Cadillac CTS-V

Introduction

Back when the first generation CTS was still in production, the folks at Cadillac had a bright idea: shoehorn a Corvette engine in the CTS, slap on a series of go-fast goodies and give the traditional kings of super-sedan Hill -- - - BMW M5, Mercedes-Benz AMG's various sports sedan and Audi's S6 - something to worry about. Cadillac called it the CTS-V, and its performance numbers were indeed impressive, as was its relative affordability. In other ways, but it was not quite ready for prime time, from its low-buck interior to its stated rear axle-hop during acceleration runs.

This year it is a whole new ballgame. 2009 Cadillac CTS-V, based on far superior second-generation CTS platform, ditches the axle hop, is a first-rate interior and? Perhaps most importantly? achieves record-breaking four-door speed. The 556-horsepower, Supercharged 6.2-liter V8 (which is essentially a slightly detuned version of the same engine found in the Corvette ZR-1) helps the new V made some ridiculous straight-line times: zero to 60 km / h in 4.3 seconds and the quarter-mile in 12.4 seconds at almost 115 km / h. In addition, the CTS-V is equally impressive when the going get twisty. In a recent comparison test, we found out for ourselves what Cadillac had told us all along - V is faster than both the M5 and C63 AMG around a racetrack, despite a base price that is nearly $ 25,000 less than BMW.

Stupendous performance rights aside, there are a few drawbacks worth mentioning. First and foremost, it's hard to tell from the driver's seat, there is a V8 under the hood. The compressor whine is omnipresent, and it is expected V8 rumble is AWOL. Second, the automatic transmission can feel raw at times, thanks to a slow-witted manual mode, upshifts and rough in both Sports Drive and manual modes. Moreover, the standard seats are not very different from those in the regular CTS, which is disappointing in a dedicated sports machine? although the optional sports seats RECARO is irreproachable.

The super-sedan segment is an embarrassment of riches these days, with many German players boast sophisticated design, sports-carlike handling and sonorous V8 or V10 engines. But the 2009 Cadillac CTS-V has elbowed its way to the leader of this sparsely occupied class with its unparalleled all-around performance, stylish metal plates and reasonable prices. We are particularly pleased with the smaller M3 and C63 AMG sports sedan, which competes directly with Cadillac at the price, but the dimensions of the CTS-V put it together more, much more expensive competitors. Super-sedan customers owe itself to take a hard look at this hard core Caddy.

Body style, trim levels, and Options

2009 Cadillac CTS-V is a high-performance sports sedan that comes in a single trim level. Standard features include 19-inch alloy wheels, Brembo brakes, adaptive xenon headlamps, an adaptive suspension with driver-adjustable shock absorbers, keyless entry and ignition (including remote start the automatic transmission models), rear park assist, leather upholstery, a leather - wrapped power tilt -telescoping steering wheel cylinders, power-adjustable heated front seats with driver memory, dual-zone automatic climate control, OnStar and Bluetooth. Also standard is a 10-speaker Bose surround-sound audio system with a CD/MP3 player, satellite radio, a USB port, an iPod-ready auxiliary audio jack and a 40-gigabyte hard drive that can be used to store music .

Options include a hard-drive-based navigation system with real-time traffic and weather reporting, 14-way power-adjustable RECARO sports seats with heating and ventilation, a suede-trimmed steering wheel and a sunroof.

Power Trains and Performance

A Supercharged 6.2-liter V8 powers the 2009 Cadillac CTS-V, send a whopping 556 horsepower and 551 pound-feet of torque to the rear wheels. A six-speed manual transmission is standard, and a six-speed automatic transmission with steering wheel-mounted shift buttons is optional. For performance testing, automatic-equipped CTS-V catapulted to 60 km / h in 4.3 seconds and flew through the quarter-mile in 12.4 seconds at 114.7 mph. Brake Capacity was also phenomenal, as our test car stopped from 60 mph in a seatbelt-strain 104 feet. Cadillac estimates that the CTS-V will return 13 mpg in the city and 19 mpg on the highway.

Security

2009 Cadillac CTS-V comes standard with anti-lock brakes, traction control, stability control, front-seat side airbags, full-length side curtain airbags and GM's OnStar emergency communications system.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety crash tests, the regular CTS earned scores of "Good" (the highest possible) for both frontal-offset and side-impact protection. In government crash tests, the CTS earned four out of five stars for driver protection in head-on collisions, while the front passenger received five-star protection. The CTS also received five stars for side-impact protection for front and rear passengers.

Interior design and special features

2009 CTS-V's interior is not very different from the regular CTS. Fortunately, the building boasts one of the nicer interior in its segment, with a sleekly attractive center stack design and mostly high-quality materials. We would advise skipping the base seats, as they are neither supports nor particularly comfortable. Get the optional RECARO sports seats instead, who has a crush on all the right places, but comfy enough for long trips. Rear seat dimensions are satisfactory, even for larger adults. The regular CTS's available split-folding rear seat is not available on the CTS-V, although a pass-through is standard. Bagage offers 13.6 Cubic holds, although reading the major issues is hampered by a short deck.

The design of the optional navigation system is particularly clever, display withdrawn in line, but the top inch of the screen remains visible for the audio system. Another well thought out feature is standard 40 GB hard drive, which not only allows for storage of music files, but enables AM / FM and satellite radio to be rewound, paused and resumed? much like a DVR for radio. Bose surround-sound audio system provides rich bass and a pleasingly warm sound.

Driving Impressions

At 4313 pounds, the 2009 Cadillac CTS-V weighs as much as some crossover SUVs. This makes his face flattening performance even more amazing. Despite the otherworldly lap times, although the CTS-V ultimately can not hide his 2-ton-plus mass on winding roads. The CTS-V feel a little portly in tight corners, although the 556 horses make amends in a hurry when the road straightens out. The default setting steering mechanism is too light for a high-performance sports sedan, but it is easily remedied by tapping the traction control button twice - this activates Competitive driving, weighing up to the steering, traction control turned off and switch to a more lenient stability control program for aggressive driving.

The automatic transmission's lurching full throttle upshifts are crude, but effective, although we can not say the same to the manual shift buttons on the back of the steering wheel spokes. They are so slow on the draw, you're better off just leaving the transmission in Drive Sport. The manual transmission can be a better bet, since it has a positive corporate change efforts and a surprisingly light and progressive clutch.

China terra cotta museum

he terracotta warriors and horses, created about 2,200 years ago, were found in 1974 on the east side of the tomb of the First Emperor Qin Shihuang (259 BC - 210 BC) near Xi'an.Emperor Qin's Terra-cotta army pits are the large attendant pits, located about 1 mile (1.5 kilometers) east of the Emperor QinShihuang's mausoleum, symbolizing the main defending force that guarded the capital before Emperor Qin died .Qin Shi Huang (259-210BC) was the first emperor of the Qin Dynasty and he was the founder of China’s first empire. He expanded his military strength building an army of one million professional soldiers. He started the construction of the Great Wall.
In preparation for his death he built a replica of his kingdom underground and he was finally laid to rest in the underground palace at its centre. It took over 720 000 people, 37 years to build. The terra-cotta army were created to defend his underground kingdom from attack. When they were first found it was believed that the terra-cotta warriors are all individually designed, based the faces of the Emperors actual soldiers. However, it has since been proved that all the soldiers are based on ten basic designs. The site is now the famous Terra-cotta Museum, which consists of three main buildings, Pit 1, Pit 2 and Pit 3. The three pits occupy an area of 22,000 square meters, housing about 8,000 life-size pottery warriors and horses.
Pit No. 3 is situated 25 metres to the north of Pit No. 1 and to the west of Pit No. 2. Tthe pit is in the concave shape with 520 square metres. From the pit were discovered one chariot, four terra-cotta horses and 68 clay armoured warriors. In Pit No. 3 were only unearthed one kind of weapon called "shu", which had no blades and are said to be used by the guards of honour. Discovered also in this pit were a re- maining deer-horn and animal bones. This is maybe the site where sacrificial offerings and war prayers were practiced.n December 1980, two sets of large painted bronze chariots and horses were unearthed 20 metres west of the tomb of the first Emperor of the Qin Dynasty.

They were listed as No.1 and No.2 respectively according to their discovery. They were then enclosed in a wooden coffin and buried in a pit seven metres deep. When excavated, the chariots and horses were seriously damaged due to the decayed wooden coffin and the collapse of earthen layers. No.2 bronze chariot and horses were found broken into 1555 pieces when excavated. After two-and-half years of careful and painstaking restoration by archaeologists and other experts they were formally open to the public on October 1, 1983. No.1 bronze chariot and horses were also open to the public in 1988.

Hawaii The Cove Photos

At the southern edge of the main road, we headed further south through a ranching community and then on to a primitive single lane road that went for miles over windswept land toward the southernmost point in the United States. Upon reaching the rocky outcropping, we found mostly local fishermen with long rods fishing into the ocean, using inflated black garbage bags as massive bobbers as they streamed line hundreds of feet out into that fish rich area of Hawaii. There was no monument or plaque to indicate where the southernmost point would be located, so we found it by perusing our maps and triangulating on the coast, then stepping out onto the wave splashed rocks.

Shark's Cove, located on Oahu's north shore, is Oahu's premier shore dive. It is easy to do 2 tanks at this location, as there is tons to see. With large lava tubes and numerous swim thrus to go with the abundant marine life, Shark's Cove is a must dive when conditions allow it. During summer months, Shark's Cove turns into a diving hot spot with both locals and visitors. During winter months, the north shore gets hit with monster waves (10 - 35 feet) and Shark's Cove isn't accessible to divers. Additionally, this site is a marine sanctuary (i.e. No fishing), so the marine life in more plentiful here than at other spots around the islands.
Right next to this bay was a small but historically intriguing national park called Pu'uhonua o Honaunau National Historical Park. The seaside location was a "place of refuge", where commoners who violated the intricate and strict set of kapu laws could try to run away to before otherwise being killed by strangulation, fire, club, or spear. If that person reached this place before warriors and enforcers of the kapu could catch them, the offender would perform some rituals by a residing priest and all would be forgiven.
If they didn't reach that place, they were quickly killed for their transgressions. Transgressions could include letting their shadow fall onto a chief, walking in the footsteps of the chief, men and women eating together, or one of many other complex and unyielding rules.

The area also contained a royal compound, and served other purposes for the local people. A native Hawaiian was onsite, creating a feather cape while telling very real stories of his people's history and answering questions very knowledgeably. He felt a responsibility to continue both the traditions and the history of his people before they became forgotten in time.

Continuing back around, and after a delicious shaved ice concoction of li hing mui flavor, melon flavor, and vanilla ice cream, we headed to the fine snorkeling of Honaunau Bay. On the leeward west side, waves tended to be smaller than the more rambunctious eastside variety, so entry and exit was easy. Also, the rocks formed benches and shelves to sit on before entering the water that quickly dropped to depths over our heads. Once in the water - and after some heavy breathing getting acclimatized to the cool temperature - we saw a great variety of brightly colored fish and coral. The highlight: swimming beside a placid large green sea turtle for as long as we wanted.

Pensacola Beach

Pensacola Beach, Florida has long been one of America's top beach vacation destinations, earning it the moniker of "the world's most beautiful beaches". Although the area is probably best known for its crystal white sand beaches and the sparkling emerald green water of the Gulf, Pensacola Beach also offers many off the beach family vacation attractions, including a zoo, many water and amusement parks, marine park, racetrack, miniature golf courses and much more. Pleasant year 'round temperatures and an average of over 320 days of sunshine per year make Pensacola Beach a sun seeker's dream.
Buck Lee, General Manager of the Island Authority said that sand at Casino and Quietwater beaches have not been sifted but have instead been spot checked for debris. Mr. Lee said sifting of these beaches will occur later, but he gave no time table on when this will occur.
Bob West, Pensacola beaches public safety director said that Lifeguards have been swimming at the two main beaches to remove debris that they come across at the surface. Public Safety Director West said "We'll have the bulk of debris out of water by Sunday, but it wouldn't surprise me if there was some more out there."

Areas outside of the two main beaches mentioned above probably are more dangerous to swimmers and beachgoers and footwear is recommended to be worn at all times both on the sandy beaches and in the water.
Sandy Johnston, executive director of the Pensacola Beach Area Chamber of Commerce stated "We expect to be really busy this weekend and next weekend. These are the last two weekends before school starts, so we expect a lot of people will be trying to get to the beach for one last visit."
The Lifeguard towers at Casino Beach were destroyed by Hurricane Dennis. The towers are being rebuilt and three are expected to be operational by Sunday.

The Pensacola Beach Central Reservation Service offers easy access to all of the area's best hotels, motels and condo rentals with a reservation system that allows guests to our beaches to search by price, location or specific amenities that they want for their Pensacola Beach vacation. Pensacola Beach offers a wide variety of lodging accommodations with something to suite everyone's tastes. From a high end luxury condominium at the Portofino Resort & Spa to a full service luxury beachfront hotel room at the Hilton or Holiday Inn Resort, to the upscale, laid back lifestyle atmosphere at the brand new Margaritaville Beach Hotel, vacationers to Penscola Beach will find something for everyone.

dubai international airport

Since 1980 the number of airline passengers has grown by 200% to 21.7 million in 2004. In 2005 this figure is expected to reach 25 million and a total of 107 carriers will land passengers from 160 destinations in Dubai.
As early as 2010 this figure might reach 60 million and in 2020 between 120 and 130 million passengers are expected to reach this hub.

Today the Dubai International Airport has reached its capacity limit. The airport is currently being expanded and will, in the not too distant future, become home for 51 Super Airbus A 380 aircraft. Upon completion of the extension the airport will offer 23 dedicated gates as well as the worldwide largest care and maintenance center for the A 380.

Rolling along over the six-lane city boulevard from the Dubai International Airport towards the East of town a powerful and bustling economic miracle becomes apparent.
