It’s the world’s largest indoor free flying aviary, allowing the birds to fly in more space, freely than anywhere else in the world! This huge space is home to over 400 birds from all over the world, all living in their uniquely designed home, complete with an original 1920′s biplane hanging from the roof!
Bird Kingdom, as I’ve said holds a massive variety of birds – such as the Rainbow Lorikeets and one of my favourite birds – toucans! But this place doesn’t just house birds, it also houses reptiles in its Reptile Zone, as well as other flying mammals such as the cute Fruit Bats! Now, i know some of you are really scared of bats, but fruit bats really are very cute so why not give them a chance :)
Bird Kingdom is split into: The Small Aviary, Reptile Zone, Nocturnal, Main Aviary, the Japanese Tea House and Bar, the Macaw Market and the Sunshine Banquet Room!
The Small Aviary houses many of the smaller birds, a lot which could fit in the palm of your hand – and is home to many rare and endangered species, lovingly cared for and looked after by this great venue. This exhibit also overlooks the Niagara Gorge which is a world renowned area for bird spotting.
